Inspired by William Robinson, a prominent gardener and writer of the 19th century, we consider ourselves 'Wild Gardeners'. On one hand we seek out simplicity in our garden designs and practices. Choosing plants in consideration of light, space, and soil type. On the other hand, our focus on native, companion and succession planting carves the way for naturally occurring complexity to flourish. With this in mind, it's vital for us to consider the natural relationships between the trees, shrubs, perennials, and ground covers. Such considerations help us to create resilient outdoor spaces, made to thrive for years to come. It is with this approach we are most effective and efficient, we reduce water usage and unnecessary labor.
A happy garden is one that is full of life. Beginning below the surface, we use high quality soil suppliers, organic composts and fertilizers to ensure plenty of microbial activity. While this in turn will help towards building a strong soil web, above ground we consider the biodiversity of your plants and beneficial insects. In garden design we consider native plants and trees not just for their natural beauty but also for their co-evolution with native insects and animals . Native plants provide the food and shelter they need. Additional biodiversity comes from the creation of wildlife corridors, transition zones, water stations where ever possible.
